Canarsie is Brooklyn's southeastern corner, bounded by Jamaica Bay and the Belt Parkway. The neighborhood has a large Caribbean-American population and some of the most single-family-home-dominated streetscapes in Brooklyn. Canarsie Pier and the Gateway National Recreation Area offer boating and fishing at the edge of the bay.
