The 48th Precinct covers Fordham and Belmont, the latter better known as the Little Italy of the Bronx. Arthur Avenue is Belmont's main commercial street, with an authentic Italian market culture that has outlasted Manhattan's Little Italy. The Bronx Zoo and New York Botanical Garden border the precinct on the east.
